CalEITC4Me helps millions of low-income California families claim the state and federal Earned Income Tax Credits, putting more than $4 billion back in their pockets — a proven strategy to increase financial security for those working hard to attain it.
Our CalEITC4Me program is a national leader in Earned Income Tax Credit outreach and organizing, using innovative and cutting-edge tactics to help working people understand and access the credit.
We believe that everyone who works should be able to afford life’s basic needs – such as food, housing, transportation and health care. Yet 1 out of 6 people in California live in poverty, the highest rate in the country.
Our bilingual website is a go-to hub of information, providing up-to-date resources, content, tool kits, fact sheets, videos, social media campaigns and other user-friendly resources for partners, community organizations and tax filers throughout the tax season and beyond.
Our year-round EITC organizing model is having incredible results — more than 1.9 million California households claimed the Cal EITC in 2019, a 40% increase in claims over 2018. Close to $360 million of Cal EITC went directly into the pockets of low-income workers on top of the $2 billion in federal EITC Californians receive each year.
