CalFresh Event

CalFresh–formerly known as food stamps–helps pay for food when money is tight, but many families don’t know they’re eligible. GSO partnered with Black Women for Wellness on the LA2050 Grants Challenge to increase CalFresh enrollment and access to nutritious food for 35,000 low-income Black women in Los Angeles County.

Black Women for Wellness is a trusted messenger with 20 years of experience in organizing, healing, supporting, and educating Los Angeles’ black women and girls. Together, we’re reaching families through food distribution events (pictured above), social media ads, and easy-to-navigate CalFresh enrollment through GetCalFresh.org. It’s all part of our mission to connect low-income families with the resources they need to build financial wellbeing.
