Tell Congress to Support the Tax Cut for Workers Act

With the cost of food, fuel, and other essentials at the highest levels in 40 years, working Americans are facing impossible choices: pay the rent, buy groceries, or fill the gas tank to get to work. No one should have to choose between basic needs.

The EITC is a proven tool for fighting poverty, but right now, it leaves behind millions of workers who aren’t raising children at home. In 2021, a temporary expansion helped 17 million workers — including younger workers and seniors — with an average boost of $700. Making this expansion permanent would benefit 14 million low-paid working adults this tax season alone.
